Post Princess Models of Gender

"Post Princess Models of Gender", written by Ken Gillam and Shannon R. Wooden, indicate that the models of male has been changed in the current movie and TV Series. Recently, male roles become more effeminate, homosocial and emotional than before. Males' feminine qualities are get enhanced but their masculine qualities are dented. The authors make many examples and discuss many male roles,like woody and buzz,  in purpose of proving their theory. The examples are really good, and readers can learn much from them. 
As far as I concerned, strengthening too many males' feminine qualities is harmful to the development of society and the growth of the next generation.  The word " Alpha males" make me remember a TV series I watched before. In the American teleplay "teen wolf", the wolf man " Derek" is a good example to prove my opinion. When Derek is a Beta wolf man in his uncle's pack, he is quite irresolute. Though he wants to take revenge on his uncle, the leader wolf, because he believes his uncle killed his sister, he  is still  effeminate and hesitates to kill his uncle. However, after killing his uncle and becoming the Alpha wolf in his pack, Derek is more ruthlessly and starts to demonstrate his leadership. Being the leader wolf in the pack make Derek more mature and inner-directed. Therefore, masculine qualities can make males more strong and have more responsibilities to play their roles well in their lives. Feminine qualities will make males have no ability to commit.

Question: If females have more  masculine qualities and males have more  feminine qualities, do you think the mutual complement in the characters between males and females will be destroyed?

I don't think that men or women are showing more of the opposite qualities. I think that we're making more of an effort to point them out. There have always been men doing some womanly roles and women doing some more manly roles. I think that people will always get together with someone that complements them and makes life better for everyone involved. Many men stay at home now while the women go out to work outside of the home, as long as it works for them, and everyone is happy I think it's a great situation. Who cares who does what role, as long as they're not hurting anyone and everyone is happy.

But I don’t think it’s a good phenomenon if female has masculine qualities and male has feminine qualities……
Nowadays, more and more females are playing an important character no matter in society or in economy. Also, many countries have canceled the laws which are unfair to women. In the 21st century, female and male have the equal chances at education, work, and the other aspects.

This is interesting! In my opinion, I don't like it. I also think it depends on different persons' choices. Boundaries of qualities of female s and males are important.

That's a good question. Having feminine qualities doesn't mean women are incapable of committing . Actually, Women also play a important role in current society.In my opinion, males and females are both have their own responsibilities. They are different. The best way for males and females is playing their roles well and making up each other's shortage.However, if women give up their "feminine qualities", they will be incapable of taking their original responsibilities.
